Wasim Akram's wife Huma passes away

Huma Akram, the wife of former fast bowler Wasim Akram, passed away this morning in Chennai's Apollo Hospital, her friend confirmed Cricdb. Speaking from Lahore, she said, "yeah, Huma is no more. It is indeed a very sad news".

"It is not known whether the body would be flown to Lahore. It is to be decided now,” she added.

Huma Akram was admitted to the Apollo hospital in Chennai last Tuesday after her health suddenly deteriorated while she was being taken to Singapore for medical treatment in an air ambulance from Lahore.

Huma was reportedly suffering from sepsis (an inflammation of several tissues including blood), leading to kidney failure.

Wasim was married to Huma Mufti, daughter of Mr. Humayaun Mufti, some 14 years ago and the couple have two sons (Taimur and Akbar) from their marriage.
