India paceman Shanthakumaran Sreesanth has suffered swine flu and ruled out of the first two One-Day Internationals against Sri Lanka, starting from December 15 in Rajkot. Sreesanth was admitted to Mohali’s Fortis Hospital late on Thursday with symptoms of the H1N1 virus. He later tested positive, GS Walia, joint secretary of Punjab Cricket Association (PCA), said.
"Due to persistent symptoms of cough, fever and body ache, a throat swab was sent for H1N1 testing. The report was found to be positive and he was immediately put on medication. He will remain in the hospital for a day or two. He is recovering well and all his vital signs are normal," said PCA.
Sreesanth, who made a comeback to international cricket after a gap of 18 months in the recently concluded Test series against Sri Lanka, already missed the first Twenty20 international against Sri Lanka in Nagpur on Wednesday due to the same illness. And was ruled out of the second Twenty20 as well.
