Pakistan fast-bowler Mohammad Sami has been recalled into the squad for the tour of Australia following the request of team management in Australia. According to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) media release the request was made, keeping in view the burden on the fast bowlers in the team in demanding environment in Australia which can be harmful for their fitness.
Pakistan has just finished a three-match Test series in Napier with 1-1 and flying to Australia, for three Tests, five One-day internationals and a twenty20 game in Australia. The series will begin with the first test in Melbourne from Dec 26.
Sami, 28, played the last Test for Pakistan in December 2007 against India in Bangalore after he was later dropped and subsequently joined the unofficial Indian Cricket League (ICL) after which he was banned by the PCB. However, he was pardoned by the PCB earlier this year, after severing ties with the ICL.
Sami has earned a call in Pakistan after his dandy exhibit in the ongoing Quaid-e-Azam Trophy. Captaining Karachi Blues, Sami has bowled impressively in Pakistan̢۪s premier first-class tournament helping his team to reach the final to be played later this month. He has so far taken 81 wickets in 33 Tests and 118 in 83 one-day internationals.
