Younis declared that he is fit for UAE Series
After coming back from CT 2009, Younis said he was took some rest due to recovery of his injury......but now he finalize that he was fit and available for UAE series against NewZeland.....
Pakistan captain Younis Khan ruled out the uncertainty about his playing in the series against New Zealand and said he is fit and available to play in the forthcoming series. Younis however determine to attend the meeting called by the National Assembly's Standing Committee on Sports.
"I am recovered from my injury and available to play against New Zealand," Khan told Cricdb at Karachi Expo Center – where we was invited as an honorary guest on the ceremony of World Mental Health Day organized by Karachi Psychiatry Hospital. "I will also attend the meeting called by the standing committee on sports,” he said in a brief talk.
Khan – who was awarded a shield by the organizer, urged for the sack of mental and physical fitness both men and women should take part in sports activities.
Khan played three matches in the ICC Champions Trophy matches despite suffered hairline fracture in a finger. His captaincy came under attack from various quarters dropping a crucial catch in the semi-final against New Zealand which Pakistan lost by five wickets. Khan dropped an easy catch to let Grant Elliott off the hook. Elliott scored an unbeaten fifty to help New Zealand score an upset win over Pakistan.
Even the loss against the Kiwis also sparked off a match-fixing controversy where both captain and coach Intikhab Alam were accused of losing the matches against Australia[Group match] and New Zealand in the elite eight-nation tournament ‘deliberately’.
Cricdb also learnt that the skipper would not tolerate the slur of match-fixing levelled against him and his teammates and would resign from the captain's job if he felt so.
There were media reports suggesting Shahid Afridi - Pakistan T20I captain, will take over in the ODIs too against New Zealand, but Afridi denied he had been offered the captaincy in his recent meeting with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Ejaz Butt at the Gaddafi Stadium on Friday along with outgoing manager Yawar Saeed.
