Asif's five-wicket haul stepdown WAPDA
Water and Power Department Authority (WAPDA) stalled on 133 against National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) in the second match of their second round of the Quaid-e-Azam trophy at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore. WAPDA botched to negotiate Muhammad Asif's devastating bowling in their first innings as the entire team shattered in 42.2 overs.
Test cricketer Muhammad Yousuf was the only batsman resisted hard and managed 35 off 69 balls with wicket-keeper batsman Ahmed Said – who composed 30 runs off 48 balls. In reply NBP had scored 155 with the loss of 4 wickets as two left-hander Fawwad Alam and Qaiser Abbas still unbeaten at the crease.
Habib Bank Limited (HBL) bowled out for 222 against Khan Research Laboratories (KRL) at the National Stadium, Karachi. HBL skipper Hasan Raza scored a prominent fifty off 71 balls as KRL in reply combined 56 with opener Ali Naqvi back in hut leaving Azha Ali and Saeed Anwar unbeaten at the crease.
Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGCL) used eight bowlers at UBL Ground, Karachi against Pakistan International Airline (PIA) but only manage to pick three wickets as Kamran Sajid (92) and skipper Faisal Iqbal (7) not out batsman in the middle. Both Fahad Iqbal and Sajid shared 163 runs partnership to stabilise PIA innings from early wobble as they lost two wickets when at 41.
A much needed hundred by opener Khalid Latif and Ali Asad helped Karachi Blues to reach 276 for four in their first innings against Abbottabad at the Abbottabad Cricket Stadium in Abbottabad. For Abbottabad, Muhammad Junaid Khan picked up two while Khalid Usman and Riaz Kail shared one wicket each.
Karachi Whites scored 218 for seven against Pakistan Customs at the DHA Stadium, Karachi with Afsar Nawaz struck useful 60 while Mohtashim Ali made 51 with seven fours. As Tahir Mughal picked up three for 39 for Customs.
Peshawar Region destructed Quetta;s first innings for 207 at the National Cricket Ground in Islamabad. Sanaullah Taimur Ali and Arun Lal were the top scorers with 38, 32 and 24 respectively. Nouman Habib of Quetta clinched four for 67 while Imran Khan snapped three for 47 for Peshawar. In reply, Peshawar reached 64 for 2.
Lahore Shalimar dismissed ZTBL for 264 at the LCCA Ground in Lahore. Haris Sohail batted for his 64 off 11 balls while Zulqarnain Hadier scored unbeaten 54 and Wajahatullah Wasti composed 42 off 81 balls with the help of 4 fours and 1 six. Earlier Pakistan opener Imran Nazir was dismissed by promising fast-bowler Mohammad Naved for two-ball duck.
Lahore Country Club Ground in Muridke shone up with a remarkable hundred by Kashif Siddique – son of late umpire Siddique Khan as Lahore Ravi ended the day's play with 173 for four against Sialkot Region.

Muhammad Asif also cleared by UAE Authority to play in UAE............thats good news for Pakistan.
